GatisEglitis EXANTE is a co-founder and Executive Director of EXANTE, which is an international investment company.
Education and early career
GatisEglitis was born and raised in Latvia. He gained a Bachelor’s degree in International Economic Relations as well as a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Latvia. In order to help advance his professional business knowledge, Eglitis further obtained a second master’s degree in Finance and Strategic Management from Copenhagen Business School.
Before establishing EXANTE, Eglitis had worked as an institutional business sales manager at Saxo Bank, a Danish investment bank that specialises in online investment and trading. At Saxo, Eglitis worked in institutional sales, relationship management, and business development. Working in these areas all proved to be incredibly helpful in later building the foundations of EXANTE.
EXANTE’s establishment
Eglitis, alongside Anatoliy Knyazev and Alexey Kirienko founded EXANTE in 2011 in Malta. EXANTE is a global and international investment company that provides direct access to the financial markets through client-centric trading and investment solutions. The brokerage firm was founded with the goal towards making investment service products as fluid and accessible as information is in the modern age. As the founders saw technology as a way to improve global connectivity, they built the platform to centralise access to thousands of financial instruments, as well as to stream real-time market data to investors.
At the time of its founding, EXANTE was the only provider of global access for Maltese-based traders, and the company was also open to serving a wide range of clients. This included international, local, and long-only equity investors. Eglitis then became a member of the investment and executive committee of the head office in Malta. After five years in the role, he then took over as Managing Partner. He then became responsible for the company’s business development and strategic planning.
Eglitis envisioned EXANTE as a one-stopshop for all traders, regardless of skill or experience level. He wanted thismodel to be able to meet the needs of large hedge funds as well. As such, he believed that EXANTE must implement competitive prices for services, accessibility of leverage, and access to exotic tools that can offer a personalised and optimal trading experience.
Eglitis also positioned the investment company to be able to meet the needs of novice traders. As he himself says, he expressed that “Everyone is welcome, and prices are the same for everyone, regardless of whether they are high or low-volume traders.” This meant EXANTE would provide the maximum range of instruments and services for everyone as well as a high level of transparency in the broker’s business and pricing models, which is something EXANTE has definitely pioneered.
EXANTE currently
Under Eglitis’ direction and leadership, EXANTE has developed into a globally regulated broker with offices all over the world. The investment company is now authorised and regulated by the CySEC in Cyprus, the MFSA in Malta, the FCA in the UK, and the SFC in Hong Kong.

The large range of instruments available has allowed investors and traders to diversify their portfolios easily and without much trouble. Right now, EXANTE has $2 billion in assets under management (AUM). The investment company mainly services professional traders, brokers, asset managers, banks, and other financial institutions. EXANTE’s partners also include large and well-known financial establishments such as ING, Santander, HSBC, and Bank of China.
The EXANTE trading platform, which was launched by the brokerage firm, has also been able to do well. With a network of over 1,100 servers around the world to ensure the lowest latencies and safe transfer of data, EXANTE’s clients can trade the broker’s entire product offering in global markets all from a single account.
